Elementary Curriculum

For Students in Grades 1 to 8

Mathematics:

  • Math Concepts and Their Application

  • Mastery of the Four Basic Math Operations

  • American History (Grades 7 and 8)

French:

  • Study of the French Language and French Culture

Art:

  • Creative Art Exploration with a Variety of Media

Physical Education:

  • Development of Basic Physical Skills and Their Application Through Group Games and Team Sports

  • Music Appreciation of Classic and Contemporary Composers

Computers:

  • Grades 1 - 3: reinforcement of academic studies

  • Grades 4 - 6: research projects and computer literacy

  • Grades 7 - 8: computer basics and business applications

Field Trips:

  • Field trips to local and Chicagoland sites are scheduled throughout the year to culminate unit studies in science, social studies and the arts.

Standardized Testing:

  • Stanford Achievement Tests are administered annually to children in Grades 2 - 8. 

Montessori Academy teachers are trained in the Montessori philosophy of education and are dedicated to helping each child achieve their innate potential. Our student-teacher ratio does not exceed 1 to 15, enabling us to fulfill our commitment to provide individualized attention.
